Falcourt Inn

It starts with a spectacular circa 1920 Craftsman originally built as an upscale fishing lodge along the beautiful Nictaux River. It sits on a full concrete basement and has excellent systems, plenty of storage and a boat load of character.

Possibly the most stunning feature typical of the Craftsman architecture is its incredible wide and long covered, wrap-around verandah. This big verandah is always decorated for the season and greets guests and diners upon arrival. The main entry opens to an elegant foyer that says WOW. To the left is the check-in desk, reception and business office. To the right is the original livingroom with tradional oak floor, wainscotting, heavy oak, beamed ceiling, and stone fireplace. You can almost envision life as it was 70 years ago. Its pristine, comfortable and well furnished. It’s a great spot for guests to relax, have a drink or play a hand of cards.

Behind this is the 45 seat world-class diningroom. It’s L-shaped which is ideal for small meetings, weddings, receptions and nightly dining. In the summer, additional tables and chairs are set up on the covered verandah overlooking the river providing diners with an outdoor experience for dinner or drinks. Connected to the diningroom is a cozy little bar and the kitchen is conveniently situated in behind. There is also a wait staff service area and two large bathrooms for diners. The kitchen is well laid out and fully equipped with commercial stoves, dishwashing, ovens and walk-in coolers. There is a back door into the kitchen making receiving easy. And, there’s lots of storage for dry goods and easy access to the full basement.

The chef and wait staff are well trained and provide excellent service and an extensive menu. Dinner is served daily from 5 to 8:30 pm. And for all overnight guests, the kitchen provides a complementary deluxe continental breakfast each morning. The property is fully licensed. There is seating for dinner for 45 but the restuarant can serve many more when required with expanded seating in the livingroom, lounge and on the deck.

The entry foyer continues down the centre of the inn with doors into the diningroom, access to the kitchen, stairs to the second floor and two main floor guest suites. Upstairs, there is a huge centre wide open foyer with seating and 6 more guest rooms including the Millview Suite which overlooks the river, offering a sitting area, large window, king size bed, jet tub, private bath and fireplace.

All the guest rooms have ensuite baths, cable TV, telephone, data ports, ceiling fans and air-conditioning. Each is well furnished and has a different colour scheme. There is also a laundry room, linen storage and extra storage areas on the second floor.

Innkeeper’s Accommodations
Sixty years ago Reidvale House was home to the farm foreman. It has been totally updated and today it’s a comfortable 2 bedroom home with modern kitchen, livingroom, full bathroom and laundry.

Lancaster House
A recent addition to Falcourt Inn is this 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1,000 square foot modular home. It’s ideal for families who want to stay for a few nights.

Other Accommodations
There are also two other buildings with accommodations. There’s an older restored farmhouse with 2 fully updated and very comfortable units and a small self-contained cottage overlooking the river.

Barns
There are two barns including a horse barn and a spacious, well built 2 story barn. Both barns are in good repair and have excellent potential. The horse barn can be promoted as a B & B “Bed and Bale” for guests passing through with horses. And, the big barn could be developed for additional guest rooms, party rooms, weddings, conventions, meetings or used for an art gallery or spa.
